How to Make an AI Rap Battle Video with a Friend
Short answer: on the AI rap battle page, add one photo of you and a friend side by side (or one photo each), choose Battle, and type what you're beefing about, like "who's the worse driver". You get a 12-second video where rapper 1 drops two lines and rapper 2 fires back, each with their own voice and lip-sync. It costs 500 credits on Standard.
What you get
- Two voices. Each rapper sounds different, and only one raps at a time. The other nods to the beat with their mouth closed.
- Turns in a fixed order. Rapper 1, on the left, goes first. Rapper 2, on the right, answers.
- Lines aimed at each other. In a battle the two face each other and trade playful trash talk. The lyrics stay clean.
If you'd rather perform together, choose Duet instead: rapper 2 continues rapper 1's verse rather than answering it.
Step 1: the photos
You have two options:
| Option | When to use it |
|---|---|
| One photo of both | You already have a photo of the two of you side by side. Both faces clear, roughly the same size, nobody else in the shot. |
| One photo each | You don't have a photo together, or one of you is far away. Use a clear, front-facing photo of each person. |
With One photo each, the first photo becomes rapper 1 on the left. Put the other person's photo in the first slot if they should go first.
The same rules as a solo video apply to each face: good light, no sunglasses, no celebrities. More in the best photo for an AI rap video. Only use photos of people who agreed to be in the video.
Step 2: the topic
A battle needs a small, specific argument. "Life" or "money" gives the AI nothing to aim at. These work well:
- Who's the worse driver
- Whose cooking is actually edible
- Who's always late
- Cats vs. dogs
- Who really won last game night
Inside jokes are even better: "who ate the last slice" beats any generic topic.
Step 3: writing the lines yourself (optional)
Choose My lyrics and you get one box per rapper, up to 140 characters each. That's about 15 words, or one to two short lines. Some tips:
- Make rapper 2's line answer rapper 1's. "You drive like a turtle" → "At least my turtle got here first".
- Leave one box empty and the AI writes that part, so you can write your own line and let it answer.
- Keep it friendly. The video is meant to make both of you laugh, and battles meant to embarrass or harass someone break our terms.

Step 4: settings
| Setting | Good choice for a battle |
|---|---|
| Stage | Street cypher or Arena stage |
| Beat | Boom bap for a classic battle, Trap or Drill for harder energy |
| Quality | Standard (500 credits). Best (800) uses Seedance 2 for more movement and camera work |
| Format | Vertical 9:16 for TikTok and Reels |
Draft isn't available for two rappers: 8 seconds is too short for two turns.
What if it goes wrong?
- The wrong person raps. Check rapper 1 is on the left in your group photo, or switch to one photo each.
- The faces drift. Use photos where each face is bigger and front-facing.
- The video fails. The credits come back automatically, and you can try again.
Can I post it?
Yes. Download the MP4 or share a link. Videos made with paid credits can be used commercially; the free signup credits are for personal use. Posting tips are in AI rap videos on TikTok, Reels and Shorts.
