How to Write Rap Lyrics for a 12-Second AI Rap Video
Short answer: write 2–4 short lines, about 25–30 English words (or 35–40 Chinese characters) in total, with a clear rhyme at the end of each line. Put the name or punchline in the last line. Longer lyrics get rushed or cut off.
How many words fit in 12 seconds?
A relaxed rap flow is roughly 2–3 words per second. With a short intro and outro on the beat, that leaves about 25–30 words for a 12-second clip and 15–20 words for an 8-second draft.
What structure works best?
Use two couplets (pairs of rhyming lines):
Line 1: set the scene
Line 2: rhyme with line 1
Line 3: build up
Line 4: punchline + name, rhyme with line 3
Example (27 words):
Woke up on a Monday, got the city in my hands,
Turned a little photo into stadium fans.
Thirty years of greatness and the crown still fits,
Happy birthday Maya, you the realest, no skips.
Tips that make the AI rap more clearly
- Short words beat long words. Multi-syllable names are where pronunciation slips.
- Spell names how they sound. "Shiv-on" is safer than "Siobhan".
- One idea per line. Stacked metaphors blur together.
- Keep it clean. Profanity may be filtered or mispronounced.
- Skip [verse] or [chorus] labels. The AI may read them out loud.
When should I use Topic instead of lyrics?
If you don't have exact words, use Topic and describe the situation in one sentence, e.g. "my brother finally passed his driving test on the fourth try". The AI writes a short verse that fits the clip length.
Can the AI rap in Chinese?
Yes. Choose Mandarin as the rap language. Keep each line to 8–10 characters and rhyme the final character of each line.
